On March 19th 1994, the International Year of the Family (IYF), Saint Joseph Institute for the Family, Bioethics and Pro Life was established upon the request of His Eminence Cardinal Stephanos II Ghattas.

The foundation of Saint Joseph Institute was at the same time of the International Conference on Population and Development Cairo ICPD.

The headquarter was established in Cairo, followed by the establishment of the other branches all over Egypt; Alexandria, Minya, Assiut, Sohag, Luxor and Aswan.

 

In cooperation with the patriarchs, bishops and the community, Saint Joseph Institute serves as a resource for family life skills education, prevention and intervention as well as crisis support, in Egypt and the Middle East region.

Our services include Premarital Preparation courses, Listening and Accompaniment services, Natural Family Planning programs, Clergy and Religious Leaders Support.

Geographically, Saint Joseph Institute services cover urban and rural towns and villages in all provinces either in a regular way or upon request or for congresses.The center serves the vast majority of Catholic Christians; Orthodox and Evangelical and open for all other religion
